21 เมษายน วันสถาปนากรุงรัตนโกสินทร์

วันสถาปนากรุงเทพมหานครฯ ครบรอบ 242 ปี

นับแต่พระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราช เสด็จขึ้นเป็นปฐมกษัตริย์แห่งราชวงศจักรี เมื่อวันที่ 6 เมษายน 2325

ต่อมาได้ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าโปรดกระหม่อมให้ย้ายราชธานีจากฝั่งธนบุรี มาที่ฝั่งตะวันออกของแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา และจัดให้ตั้งการพระราชพิธียกเสาหลักเมืองสำหรับพระนครขึ้นเพื่อเป็นหลักชัยอันสำคัญ พระฤกษ์ยกเสกหลักเมือง ซึ่งตรงกับวันที่ 21 เมษายน 2325
